Nace Una Estrella: Gaga, Cooper y Rock & Roll.

__A Star is Born__ la nueva adaptación protagonizada por __Lady Gaga__ es una película que arranca con mucha fuerza pero que a medida que va llegando a su final se va resquebrajando

<div class="text-justify">Para los que no lo sepan, A Star Is Born es un remake de una película de 1937 que posteriormente tendría otras versiones en 1954 y en 1976, siendo esta última protagonizada por Barbra Streisand y Kris Kristofferson probablemente la más famosa.

En esta nueva versión del siglo XXI la historia es sobre la relación amorosa de un veterano _RockStar_ alcohólico en decadencia y una cantante novata que empieza a surgir en el mundo musical donde al parecer todos tratan de convertirte en un producto.

Aquí __Bradley Cooper__ (American Sniper; Silver Lining Playbook) se estrena como director, y lo mejor que hizo fue cubrirse de talento tanto delante como detrás de las cámaras. Cooper eligió a la famosa Lady Gaga para ser la coprotagonista de dicha historia, y la verdad es que la cantante ahora actriz realiza un trabajo potente en donde no hay mucho que se le pueda criticar. Obviamente los momentos en los que más brilla es cuando tiene la oportunidad de soltarse, cantar y utilizar esa magnífica voz que posee. Es un placer ver aquí a Gaga sin tanto maquillaje y más desnuda emocionalmente a como nos tiene acostumbrado. Otro acierto de Cooper delante de la cámara fue el de darle el papel del hermano del protagonista a Sam Elliott, magnífico actor que tenía tiempo que no lo veía en tan buen papel. Para el rol protagónico del veterano músico, Bradley Cooper se colocó a él mismo. Este la verdad que hace tan buen trabajo como nos tiene acostumbrado, utilizando ese carisma que posee y demostrando su talento como músico y cantante. Aunque desafortunadamente el papel sufre no por su culpa como actor sino por la falta de arco narrativo en su personaje. La repetición del alcoholismo y las drogas comienzan a cansar después de la mitad de película. Sin embargo la química entre Cooper y Gaga es innegable.

Para detrás de cámara la mejor decisión de Cooper como director fue el utilizar al gran Matthew Libateque (Requiem For a Dream; Black Swan; Mother!) como su director de fotografía, y es que este cinematógrafo ha demostrado más de una vez que es uno de los mejores trabajando hoy en día. Caracterizado por captar los excesos con una visceralidad e intensidad asombrosa, Libateque es el que mantiene en gran parte esa gran fuerza que posee la primera parte de A Star Is Born, que lamentablemente luego comienza a decaer por culpa de un guión que se siente forzado y cae en los clichés de un Hollywood que no tiene cabida en estos tiempos modernos.

La película trata de hacer una crítica al mundo de la música y de la manera de cómo el sistema musical le va quitando la identidad a sus artistas para convertirlos en productos comerciables. Pero por alguna razón esta crítica resulta muy confusa. El único que parece notar esto es el personaje de Cooper y no lo expresa. Y el guión comienza a forzar la caída de este personaje con decisiones y giros que resultan ilógicos, exagerados y poco creíbles.

Afortunadamente, el filme posee una banda sonora que tanto los fans como los no fans de Lady Gaga estarán felices de escuchar.

A Star Is Born es una película con una gran primera mitad, y resulta un decente comienzo para la carrera de Bradley Cooper como director, aunque en estos momentos me resulte difícil imaginarme su voz como cineasta para otros proyectos.</div>
