FOR the first time, more than 100 student volunteers from various schools will oversee the coverage, production, and marketing of Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) Season 19 kicks off Aug. 19 at the Cebu Coliseum.
CESAFI is the only school-based competition in the entire Philippines to do so.
By August 11, all student volunteers had completed their preparation for Season 19 of their Grand Finals Meeting at the Cebu Institute of Technology University (CITU).
Using a student volunteeer was an idea by Cesafi commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy Jr., who called CESAFI Season 19 student-volunteers corps CESAFI LIVE.
It also serves as a training for student volunteers for practical experiences in marketing, creative design, media, and production.
>“We take CESAFI one step further this Season 19, not only by improving the environment for our student-athletes and other event contenders, but also by including more students not merely as spectators and fans, but as actual organizers and managers of various committees that make CESAFI a success, ”Tiukinhoy said in a press release.
>“This way, we can truly say that CESAFI is not just for the students, but also of the students and by the students. Just CESAFI, student! ”
Season 19 kicks off with the opening program, parade and oath-taking of student-athletes.
After that, the basketball event kicks off with the Don Bosco Technological Center (DBTC) Greywolves against Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons in the high school division.
The CITU) Wildcats will face off against the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars for the college division.
The one who's supporting Season 19 are Cebu Landmasters Inc., PayMaya, Sun Cellular, and co-presented by Qualfon, Virginia Food Inc., and CDO Foodsphere Inc.
