We are now accepting STEEM for payment for anything for sale on our online store. I am passionate about Steem and steemit.com so when we found a way to accept Steem directly on our store I was quick to give it a try. We'll it's been working now for a few days and I'm very excited about this! Can you tell? I'm really hoping that others will follow suit in accepting steem and I think it will only help the platform grow and help the currency value rise. The only hiccup with the payment script is that it doesn't fetch the SBD price, so it doesn't reflect this recent bump, so just convert to steem in the internal market if you want to buy.

It's seems like some others are also starting to consider that idea as well. There was a [Recent post HERE](https://steemit.com/business/@pennsif/steemcommerce-calling-all-business-owners-on-steemit-will-you-take-steem-as-payment-in-your-business) by @pennsif about this exact same thing. This idea was also discussed heavily during the growth forum held by @aggroed on mspwaves with many other influential steemians including @jesta, @timcliff, @blocktrades, @pharesim, @lukestokes, @elear, and @andrarchy. I think it's a really exciting time for Steem as a currency and with the recent gains a lot of people around here seam to be much more positive about the future.

I personally know of @thesteemitshop,  @paywithsteem and @steemporium that are actively using steem as payment on an online store. There is also @steembay with their peer to peer auctions. I was also just made aware of [Peerhub](https://www.peerhub.com/) where there is another peer to peer marketplace using steem. There is also lots of trading for silver always occurring over at #steemsilvergold and on [our Discord Channel HERE.](https://discord.gg/H63cf36)
