Sharing the love for Valentine's Day

Hi Steemit,

**Yesterday was St. Valentine’s Day! Did you all have a romantic day? I know I did! Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance though, it’s about love in general. Here are my thoughts.**

# Happy St. Valentine’s Day!

So, to me Valentine’s day isn’t just about showing affection to the one you love. It’s sharing the love with everyone! Yes, some of us are lucky to be in love. It shouldn’t be one day of the year to show this. If you love someone, you show it without even thinking about it. Yesterday wasn’t just about my love for my husband. It was showing love to my friends and my family. Some people may have lost a loved one and this could be a difficult time for them.

I lost my Granny last November and although I miss her deeply, I was glad that she got to spend Valentine’s Day with her husband in heaven after 35 years or so. She loved him so much and never looked at another man. It made me feel good that they were together again, but sad that I can’t see her or hold her hand.

Some people are single and have been for years. I know some people who dread Valentine’s Day. I used to be one. It was horrible going through a break up and then seeing all the romantic cards, gifts and adverts! It seemed to be over commercialised. I realised love isn’t about having someone special in your life. It’s being thankful for what you have. I am thankful that I have both parents, I am thankful that I am healthy. I am thankful for my best friend! So it’s not about being *in love*, it’s about *loving life!*

***In actual fact, this post is from me to you, Steemers.*** I just want to show my appreciation to all my followers. Not once did I think I would build an army of fans with my dream diary or my posts on donuts and food. I am honoured to have such lovely comments and people taking a real interest in my dreams and posts. That means a lot. I never thought I would have 100 followers, let alone over 500!
