Wooden 3-D puzzle and my journey making it!

<p>On Christmas eve I got a few amazing gifts including some wooden 3-D Puzzles. I have made a big one before ( A dragon and phoenix in one) this year and even though I loved making that one it was also very funny to see me make it. I did not expect to make one ever again but like I said I got a few of them for Christmas. This one, the owl, a eagle on a globe and to top it off a massive, big, mega HUGE dragon! I wanted to start easy and picked this owl to start with!&nbsp;</p>

<p>^^ This is the end result of one day of hard labor and load and I really mean loads of cursing and almost throwing, well I did throw, and breaking down the living room.&nbsp;</p>
<p>You buy these wooden puzzles in a pack and the shapes are already cut and ready to be pressed out of the wood. You also get a great description of how to put this thing together. Read: you get a piece of paper with numbers and you have to read and look where to put each part. BUT... I am not good in reading maps and or rules and or how to put things together. I always end up with a head between the legs and legs on the back.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Let me just say that is was a good thing I was not alone and got me some help from my partner. Not only is he really good in reading maps, rules and how to builds, but he also keeps me grounded when I get really frustrated. You see when I had to push out the first piece it already went wrong! I wanted to push up but it went down and I ended up with a splinter in my finger! The cursing had started!&nbsp;</p>

<p>My partner told me where to put each part and that made it a lot easier. At least that would one think....... You see, for some reason the parts never fit when I try to put them on place. It's like making a puzzle with a three year old when you make one with me. But we made a good start!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here you can see we made the back bone of the bird! This was also the moment I stood up in pure anger, pushing my seat back against the wall, almost scarring my piggy half to dead because he was kinda looking at me for some reason. I went outside and had a smoke because I was pissed and I mean really pissed. You see, these puzzles need to fit together and no matter how hard I tried the pieces kept falling off. So, after my smoke and a little cooling down I went back inside, ran to my super crafting room and grabbed the best glue I could find. From that moment on I started to glue everything together.... Smart move... Not so much!&nbsp;</p>

<p>The belly of the beast! Glue is my best friend, I want to marry glue and get glue babies!&nbsp;</p>

<p>As you can see, there are a few parts already put together WITH glue next to my hand. Smart move.... Again... Not really but more about that later! This is the moment we stopped crafting and went to have dinner. <br>
Snitsel with a sauce and pears and beans and potatoes, not really fancy for a second day of Christmas but one always should eat left overs!&nbsp;</p>

<p>After dinner and coffee we managed to put together the head of the beast! Look how cute it already looks! Lets talk about crafting eyes made to stick and stay put where ever the freaking Fuck you put them. Sweet looking eyes who move when you shake them. I loved these eyes until they kept falling off. GLUE! OOH yes, I want to marry glue and still want to have baby glue!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Oh my lord it has legs and can stand on its own! A sweet little baby owl is born! Well almost because there was still a lot of work to be done!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Feathers be cursed! No matter how I tried the pieces did not fit or stayed where I had put them. Already glued pieces where glued the wrong side up and I ended up cursing and frustrated like a little kid. Stamping my foot, crossing my arms and shouting I would never do this again nor was I going to finish this freaking beast of a bird. My fingers now glued together instead of the wood and I had more wood in my skin as in splinters as the damn owl had in his feathers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I calmed down, kinda that is after having three smokes and a shit load of coffee! And we were able to put togther the back of the bird beast as well. Now the panic, frustration and anger started to make place for pride and happiness. Okay, my fingers were still glued together and my cheeks, well whole head was still red but slowly I started to see that we did IT!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mister owl was born and no one died! <br>
No homes were destroyed during this crafting hour and the windows were still in tact! <br>
I have to thank my partner for always keeping it cool even when I go wildly beserk on him and the puzzle we are making. I can be so sweet but give me a puzzle and I turn into this frustrated demonic child.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I am ready to build the eagle now!&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thank you for taking the time to read my journey on how to build a wooden owl beast without destroying your home. You can buy these puzzles online but you will not get my partner to help you. You see, I have two more wooden puzzles to make and I really need him to get it done.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Don't forget to smile today, curl your lips and let that smile grow from ear to ear just because you can. When you smile your body produces a happy thingy that makes you feel like happy! Next to that a smile, even as short as a second, can make a real difference!&nbsp;</p>
