# Julie Bishop's Cabinet leaks comments show that Turnbull Government is 'eating itself', says ALP.
https://i.imgur.com/laGtwTQ.jpg
The ABC reports that Foreign Minister Julie Bishop's calls for an investigation into Cabinet leaks is indicative of a government "eating itself", according to ALP Leader Bill Shorten. Ms Bishop said that she supported a formal investigation says the ABC, after reports in the Daily Telegraph earlier this week suggesting that Cabinet had discussed scrapping its fervent opposition to a banking royal commission. Mr Shorten said that it was an "astonishing" admission by the deputy Liberal leader Julie Bishop.
> "But what is even more astonishing is that Julie Bishop has chosen to call for an investigation into her colleagues," he commented. "So why should Australians have confidence in the Turnbull Cabinet?"

The ABC reports that Senior Cabinet ministers have also voiced their concerns that confidential conversations have made their way into the public spotlight recently.
>"I think it's incredibly important that these issues are resolved," Treasurer Scott Morrison commented.

However, the most stinging criticism came from Immigration Minister Peter Dutton, who claimed that he had "a gut feeling" about who the leaker might be, but said he would leave it to that colleague "to out themselves".
>"If people are leaking, they don't do anybody any good, there's no good that comes of it," Mr Dutton said on 2GB.

# Senator Leyonhjelm to bring right wing radical Milo Yiannopoulos to Parliament House.
https://i.imgur.com/VotOJu1.jpg
The ABC reports that Liberal Democrat Senator David Leyonhjelm will host a question and answer session with right wing radical Milo Yiannopoulos at Parliament House when the controversial alt-right figure tours Australia next month. It is reported that Senator Leyonhjelm told Hack that he was taking the opportunity of the radical Milo's tour to bring him to Parliament in order for people "to hear from him there and put their questions to him".
>”Milo speaks about issues that are of relevance to Australians, such as political correctness, gender identity, freedom of speech." He commented.

Last year reports the ABC, several universities in the US cancelled speaking events that were to be hosted by the far-right commentator because of security concerns. In addition protesters lit fires and smashed windows when he was due to speak at a Californian university earlier this year.

# Manus Island: PNG authorities move in and tell men to leave detention centre.
https://i.imgur.com/lhECMyp.jpg
The ABC reports that Papua New Guinea police have moved into the Manus Island detention centre to try to end a three-week stand-off with protesting asylum seekers and refugees. The controversial Australian-run centre closed last month and all of the asylum seekers were asked to move to new unfinished facilities nearby. However, reports the ABC more than 350 men remain in the centre, because they say that the new accommodation doesn't have adequate facilities and they fear for their safety. PNG authorities under the directions of the Australian government have cut food, water and electricity for the last 23 days and have told the remaining men that they are squatters on defence force property. Asylum seekers inside the centre said that local police who entered the centre today were aggressive and were destroying their belongings. Asylum seekers within the centre said that PNG police had moved through the centre "destroying everything".
>"They are destroying our rooms and throwing away our belongings," tweeted one man in distress.

It is reported that Iranian refugee and journalist Behrouz Boochani said that PNG authorities were being "guided" by an Australian Federal Police (AFP) officer, a claim the AFP rejected.

# John Alexander: Liberal candidate for Bennelong by-election apologises for poor taste rape joke video.
https://i.imgur.com/LU58EeM.jpg
The ABC reports that Liberal candidate for the crucial by-election in Bennelong that could threaten the Federal Government's one seat majority has apologised after a video of him telling racist jokes emerged. In the video reports the ABC, which was posted on YouTube in 2011, John Alexander can be heard telling a joke about rape and making racial quips to fellow customers at a Brisbane pub in the 1990s. The by-election in Bennelong reports the ABC, in Sydney's north, was brought on after Mr Alexander conceded that he was "most likely" a dual citizen and therefore he was ineligible to sit in Federal Parliament. It is certain that there are dire consequences if he is defeated at next month's by-election because the Turnbull Government would lose its one-seat majority.

# NSW criticised for plan to spend $2bn on replacing two Sydney sports stadiums.
https://i.imgur.com/ps0Po0h.jpg
The Guardian reports that the New South Wales government has been criticised for its decision to spend $2bn knocking down and then rebuilding two Sydney sports stadiums. It is reported that NSW cabinet decided today to go ahead with the plan to demolish both the ANZ Stadium in Olympic Park in the inner-west and the Allianz Stadium at Moore Park. The two stadiums reportly will be replaced at a cost in excess of $2bn, Fairfax and the Australian have reported. However, the $2bn figure doesn't include the plans to rebuild Parramatta Stadium, Fairfax reported. The opposition leader, Luke Foley it is reported, immediately condemned the decision.

The team at Community News thought this was another terrific news update Pol. And a number of members are thrilled about Milo's upcoming visit - despite any leftwing uproar. ; )

Here at Community News we fight for **'free speech** for everyone and welcome debate! We feel if the 'Political Left' believe Milo is wrong - they should argue the facts - not break windows. Just saying!

@polichick ·
Hiya community news thank you for your comment but personally I am staying out of the left/right divide stuff as I believe (as an anarchist) that it is a false dichotomy, and yet another way for the Elites to divide and conquer us. I am glad that you liked the post, I aim to please and thank you very much for your support! :)
