<p>This is my first time entering the coffee plantation. Before picking coffee, or people here call it "citing coffee", Mr. Zainudin advised me to wear gloves. The gloves I use are useful to make it easy when picking coffee. Accompanied by some friends I started following directions from Mr. Zainuddin. He explained how to pick coffee for me and my friends. Coffee that is feasible to pick is a fruit that is red. How to pluck it by rotating a little fruit and do not be pulled up to its stature.</p>

<p>How to pick the correct coffee by not pulling the stem from the coffee fruit. The stalk is very influential for coffee reproduction in the future. So do not pull the coffee up to its stubbornness. Without the garden we have 2 hectares of land we have been around together. When we showed up at 12.00 noon, we decided to rest. According to Mr. Zainudin, the coffee picking is not until after 12:00 noon, because otherwise we will feel dizzy.</p>

<p>We rested in a small, worn-out hut. Zainudin's wife or called "ine" impeded us to eat lunch. Lunch was more complete accompanied by a cup of coffee typical of Gayo land. While resting laughter from a few friends make the family atmosphere so felt. Learning from today's experience I have felt how to become a coffee farmer. This activity teaches us to appreciate and love nature.</p>

<p>Ini adalah pertama kalinya saya memasuki kebun kopi. Sebelum memetik kopi, atau orang disini menyebutnya dengan "mengutip kopi", Pak Zainudin menyarankan saya untuk memakai sarung tangan. Sarung tangan yang saya gunakan ini berguna untuk memudahkan saat memetik kopi. Ditemani dengan beberapa kawan saya mulai mengikuti arahan dari Pak Zainuddin. Beliau menjelaskan tata cara memetik kopi kepada saya dan kawan-kawan. Buah kopi yang sudah layak untuk dipetik adalah buah yang sudah berwarna merah. Cara memetiknya dengan memutar sedikit buahnya dan jangan dicabut hingga ketangkainya.</p>

<p>Cara memetik kopi yang benar dengan tidak mencabut tangkai dari buah kopinya. Tangkai tersebut sangat berpengaruh untuk reproduksi kopi di masa yang akan datang. Jadi, jangan mencabut kopi hingga ketangkainya. Tanpa terasa kebun seluas 2 hektare itu telah kami kelilingi secara bersama-sama. Waktu telah nenunjukkan jam 12.00 siang, kami memutuskan untuk beristirahat. Menurut Pak Zainudin, memetik kopi itu jangan sampai lewat jam 12.00 siang, karena kalau tidak nanti kita akan merasakan pusing.</p>

<p>Kami beristirahat di sebuah gubuk kecil yang terlihat sudah usang itu. Istri Zainudin atau disebut dengan "ine" menghidang kami untuk menyantap makan siang. Makan siang terasa lebih lengkap dengan ditemani secangkir kopi khas dari tanah Gayo. Sembari beristirahat canda tawa dari beberapa teman membuat suasana kekeluargaan begitu terasa. Belajar dari pengalaman hari ini saya telah merasakan bagaiamana menjadi petani kopi. Aktivitas ini mengajarkan kita untuk menghargai dan mencintai alam.</p>
