"Food for thought II" ...Neither better nor worse, certainly not different and not even the same.
First of all, let me tell you I am not vegetarian *(well, at least not by choice since I'm in Vzla)* nor I am some sort of PETA activist or anything else of that fashion & [style.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animal_welfare_organizations) I am certainly also omnivorous as the good friends protagonists of this eerie story throughout this post.

But recently a matter has come to my attention that I can't help but sharing with all of you and I cannot stop commenting on. A pretty unknown and sinister issue that had me raising my eyebrows alternately for a while.

A game of eyebrows raising which also came with a torrent of unanswered questions that I would like to have your feedback and opinions about why the hell all this should be like this and continue in this way forever.

*"If man is eliminated, the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished forever"*

The only animal that never dies of old age due to their usual ancestral fate. *Especially since he met and established a close relationship with humans.* Despite their short lifespan, which in a natural way, would be around 15 to 20 years like most of our domestic pets like cats and dogs.

They do not have sweat glands and for the same reason it is impossible for them to sweat. That is why they tend to get muddy frequently to stay cool in hot weather seasons. Although they are one of the cleanest animals on the farm if given enough space. **Which is not always the case.**

And yet, we insist on referring to them with the most derogatory names and terms due to their peculiar hygienic acts. Peculiar hygienic acts that are just a careful and conscious skincare activity to get rid of parasites and other infectious agents which tend to be lodged in their skin.

***"And unlike dogs, horses, and HUMANS, pigs will never overeat nor will eat dangerously, even if given unlimited access to food"***

* Pigs have excellent long-term memory.
* They are very good at locating objects in difficult spaces, such as mazes, and they also have a good sense of direction.
* They can understand simple symbolic language.
* They learn complex combinations of symbols and then associate them with actions and objects.
* They play strength games with each other to practice skills.
* They have complex social structures and learn from each other.
* They have collaborative attitudes.
* Many tests showed that they can learn to manipulate a joystick to manipulate the cursor on the screen. This is something that only chimps have accomplished.
* They find hidden food by following their reflection in the mirror.
* They react to emotional displays from other individuals in their social group. *Yeah! now just tell me about a Social Network specially built for them in the blockchain.* ***Could you imagine that?***

**But yeah, you guessed it.** It is not exactly of all these interesting attributes that these noble animals possess that this post is about and of which I sure would like to get your opinion on.

#
Yeah! it's all about *money!!*

> The pork industry, gives pigs a drug called Hog-Crave, which has caused pigs to overeat so that they will grow faster and will be more **profitable** to those who kill them.

And now that you start to discover what this post is about. I will take care of showing you the [facts](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-livestock-insight/piglets-aborted-chickens-gassed-as-pandemic-slams-meat-sector-idUSKCN2292YS) in the crudest possible way so that you cannot resist answering some questions below and leaving your opinion about it.

#
[*«-*D*E*P*O*P*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*-»](https://theintercept.com/2020/05/29/pigs-factory-farms-ventilation-shutdown-coronavirus)

> With the pandemic hobbling the meat-packing industry, Iowa farmer Al Van Beek had nowhere to ship his full-grown pigs **to make room** for the 7,500 piglets he expected from his breeding operation.

> Van Beek and other farmers say they have no choice but to cull livestock **as they run short on space** to house their animals or money to feed them, or both.

> Millions of pigs, chickens and cattle will be **euthanized** because of slaughterhouse closures, limiting supplies at grocers, said John Tyson, chairman of top U.S. meat supplier Tyson Foods.

#
¿Euthanized?

https://spartacus-educational.com/USAstone7.jpg

> “We have nowhere to go with the pigs,” said Van Beek, who lamented the waste of so much meat. **“What are we going to do?”**

> Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds directed in her recent public health emergency declaration that the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) should provide in short financial assistance on disposal costs for livestock producers *who have had* **to euthanize market-ready hogs.**

- IDALS is offering $40 per approved animal to help cover disposal costs.
- Market-ready pigs are those that are 225 lbs. or heavier.
- There will be three rounds of funding assistance.
- Approved applicants are guaranteed funding for up to 1,000 animals; larger numbers also may be covered, but obviously depending on the number of applicants.

# So...
##
“What are we going to do?” ¿Huh?

https://images.hive.blog/DQmXn9yPemiTf97ZCXFAFJVJ6BLKWY6sd9h29Ah7ddHzaCq/Disability.png

Yeah! don't worry. It's only one unique question I would like you answer and give me your opinion about this subject. ***Only one question!***

Rather than **'euthanize'** all those millions of innocent hogs and waste that incredible amount of food... Wouldn't it be easier and useful find someone, everyone, to give away all those animals for free and for once in life simply try to alleviate a little the ongoing collective hunger in the world?

Yeah, I already said that pigs have an excellent long-term memory. And perhaps we still have time to redeem ourselves before them just in case that a picture like the first one of this post become a reality and we turn out to be the next victims of a well deserved depopulation practice in their own animal farms. *Perhaps the planet would even smile with great relief.*
