One true test of your profession as a born again child of God, is when you are provoked. True spirituality comes alive in the midst of provocation. Your comportment when you are provoked has so much to say about how spiritual you are. There are times the Lord allows some tests for us.

These tests are not meant to drown us or cause ridicule, they simply come to produce in our lives testimonies of God’s overcoming grace. The strength of your profession comes alive in the midst of opposition. Opposing winds often time propels. It’s all a matter of what you are able to make out of it. As our faces differ, so our attitude differs; one constant factor in human relationship is provocation.

Everyone is not likely going to be doing it your own way; you will have people step on your toes at one point or the other and your reaction at such times matter so much to God. your reaction is an index of the level of the Christ mindedness that is trapped in your being.

The Bible says in Philippians 2:5 – _“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”. Which mind?
The Bible also says in 1 Peter 2:23 – _“Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again, when he suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously”._

There is something about your commitment that shows when you are provoked. The level of restraint and constraint you show when you are provoked informs the fear of God in your being. Your ability to stay committed to God and the allowances of His Word in the midst of provocation, reflects your honor for God. God has promised that they that honor Him stand to be divinely honored.

When you get off your divinely appointed limits, to do your own and you talk contrary to the allowances of God’s Word, you are only being carnal. It’s carnality, because, it is the kind of response you will ordinarily expect from anyone in a similar situation, but the truth remains that you are not an ordinary being. You are an extra ordinary being because you have the life of God in you; you have the Spirit of the living God.
