Sex became different from gender when the supreme court in the US ruled on gender equality. when i grew up, sex=gender. Now, it's all gray.

I heard about this on the Australian news!  It definitely has the world talking.

This is a really important law for the international advancement of trans rights. We have become such a global community if one country initiates something (like Canada is here) the world will follow.

I think it's critical that the world does follow Canada's lead. Until we all connect and accept one another, and allow one another the identity they see fits them best, there will be people in our society who are unable to live *their* genuine life!

Speech police ? Amazing !  If some kids are bullying and beating up by kids theres  laws to prevent that.....how is policing the bullys speech going to stop the bully from beating kids up?  Isnt murder illegal? Arnt drugs illegal? This is social engineering and it will come back to bite everyone.......i was told as a kid that sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me....we are being treated like cattle for the inevitable fate that cows meet.......

Most frightening is the thought that there are parents out there who think it fashionable to have transgender children and are actually pushing their infants to be girls when they're boys and vice-versa.

I think enough is enough when it comes to these gender identity issues. I think that the more and more that we bring these issues to light the more more these people  will begin to be marginalized and ridiculed. I think there are more pressing issues out there then what sex you should have been. I believe that everyone should be free to vocalize their own thoughts and opinions but not to the point where it causes problems for others

I have had a discussion about this with some friends, including one from the LGBT life. 
We all agreed that parents should be able to use the "my roof-my rules" way of raising. As per Ontario law, if a 16 year old wants to make a lifestyle change for any reason; they can move out and do so under their own roof.
Just like a person does not have to accept or support someone else's decision, same with the parent's right with their children.
However, with this new Bill-89 crap, parents must be clear about why they will not allow their child to do such things and make sure the child understands that when they are old enough (16 in Ontario) that they may then make their own decisions in their own place.
This may mean that this 16 years old (in Ontario) will be completing high school, working a job, and paying for rent and food. Welcome to adult life; every choice you make has a consequence for better or for worse.

I've been doing research more into Bill-89 and came to this.
I found a Christian CAS worker in London and asked them about this Bill and its implications. This is their response:
"The way that the Bill is worded is that they took out religion completely as something we have to consider.  Now, it's about the child's "creed" or however they self identify.  That includes ethnicity, race, gender identity and sexuality. So, it says that we now have to consider all of those things when we look at the safety of a child.  If the parents are actively going against the child's self-identified "creed" then we have the power to step in and do something.  The reason this became such a hot topic is because the MPP who presented the Bill used - as an example - if a child was gay and the parents didn't believe in being gay."
"And I've talked to my colleagues about our concern that children (the ones who are on the ball) will learn about this legislation and use it against their parents to try to get what they want.  
And yes - we will need to distinguish between a rebellious kid, and a kid who legitimately is negatively impacted by their environment.
But, each worker will interpret the situation differently so there's no way to know how each person will use it in their own work"

To which I replied: "So hope to get a worker of Christian faith if this issue is the only of concern, lol"

They replied: "Basically."

They replied with:
"Yes - I think it is an excellent argument. The age CAS can get involved is now moved up to 18."

So there you have it. I'm awaiting information from another Christian CAS worker from Toronto and I expect the discussion to be similar.
