마음의 양식만 먹고 살고 싶다

도서관 가는 길에 시장도 봐 왔다.

아니, 시장 가는 길에 도서관에 들른 것인지도 모른다.

어쨌든, 집에 와 풀어 본 시장 바구니 속에서

도서관에서 빌린 책 한 권과

계란 한판, 식빵, 동태 한마리가 주섬주섬 나왔다.


책은 마음을 살찌우기 위해 열심히 읽어야겠고

계란 한판은 구운 계란 만들어, 딸래미 학원갈때 두개씩 챙겨 주고

동태는 무 나박나박 썰어서 동태찌개 끓이고

블루베리 식빵은 딸래미랑 간식으로 먹으면 되겠다.


한살 한살 나이를 먹어 갈수록, 살림 사는 것이 재미도 없고 하기 싫어진다. 

한 이십년 했으면 이골이 나서 쉬워질만도 한데 특히 음식은 할 때마다 

새롭고 어려워 하기 싫다.

반면, 책읽기는 특별한 노동을 필요로 하는 것도 없고, 게다가 재미와 지적

 욕구를 충족시켜주며, 호기심을 자극시켜주니 하루종일 책만 읽었으면 

좋겠다.

몸의 양식은 먹지 않고, 마음의 양식만 먹으며 살아갈 수는 없는가?

마음의 양식과 몸의 양식이 뒤섞인 시장바구니를 앞에 두고 쓸데없는 상념에

잠겨본다.
