A New Face - MIcro-fiction Writing Contest

Finally I am back to the writing contest. Been very busy but now I think I have time. So for @jayna's micro-fiction writing contest of 250 words I will join. I had to edit to go down to 250 words only hahah, got carried away in my story.
Here is my entry:

**<center>A NEW FACE</center>**

The skies were dark and looked heavy with rain. The neighborhood was quiet and dismal. “Just like how I feel today” said Fely to herself. Why do these things happen to me? She kept walking with her head down.

She did not see the tricycle left on the sidewalk, nor the broken glass. She was too engrossed in her misery. Her boyfriend Jack broke off with her.

She met him at Grace’s party. Fely was a very plain looking woman. Even her figure was boring. Grace was her cousin so she had to attend.

She was surprised when Jack came up to her and asked her to dance. Then he asked for her number. She was wary at first but he seemed so sincere.

She never knew that all the flowers, calls and sweet nothing texts were just part of a bet of Jack’s buddies.

When she said Yes, he laughed and said it was all a joke and a bet which he won. He said who could really love an ugly face? Then he left.

So in her misery she tripped and tangled with the bike. When she regained consciousness, her face was covered in bandages and the doctor was smiling at her.

He told her he had to *stitch* the cuts on her face and her face will look the same. Fely broke into tears. The doctor asked why because the *stitch* will never show, she whispered that she wanted a new face.

This story really broke my heart, @purpledaisy57! You have imagined and told this very well. How sad that she longs to look different than she does. I think there is so much truth in this story.
