There are several studies out there that tell you how your ability to read and understand something increases the moment you stop focusing on following words written on a row and instead focus on each individual word.

For example, if you're reading this sentence, you have to move your eyes in order to finish it, to understand what it says, and that consumes energy. It makes you, in a lot of situations, focus too much on where the words are and how they are linked to each other, instead of allowing you to focus on the meaning of those words.

At least that's what some studies tell you.

Now, I'm not the type of person to judge what those scientists said. Maybe their studies are true and maybe that's how things truly are. In my case, I'd rather just read the way I did until now.

But for others, I'm sure that reading each word at a time instead of having to look at them in an entire sentence offers them a way better experience.

That's why I decided to recommend this website today: https://www.spreeder.com/app.php

It's called "Spreeder" and it works based on a very simple concept - you introduce some text you want to read, you press the "SPREED!" button, and each word from your text will appear, individually, on your screen, after you press on the play button.

You can also go to the "settings" option on the right and change the amount of words you'll see per minute. For example, right now I can read without a problem at around 250 words per minute.

That will help you focus on what each word says without having to keep track of them in a sentence, and, it can teach you a pretty interesting trick.

You know, when we read something, we usually try to "pronounce" the words we see in our mind. We're speaking in our mind, if that makes more sense. That's why a lot of people have problems reading faster. They have to wait for that voice in their head to read each word.

However, that's not necessary. Your brain receives the information from the eyes, and you do understand the sentence you read without having to repeat the words you read in your mind.

Because of that, a lot of people learned how to read focusing on each word without saying it in their head, and this way, they increased the speed at which they read by a lot. If you can do that as well, then you may be able to increase your reading speed too.

This website may not be for everyone, but for those who are searching for something like this, it may be useful. That's why I decided to write this short "article" and share it.

Again, the link to the website is here: https://www.spreeder.com/app.php

Also, for those of you who want to read more about that voice in your head that appears when reading, you can search "subvocalization" on Google, and you'll find a lot of information about the topic!
