 After making it through a wet, gray, but mild winter in eastern Oklahoma the camper is finally heading back to Colorado. Our trip started from Durango, CO in November and ended up as far southeast as Tishimingo, OK. For Christmas we rented a cabin at Sequoyah State Park on Ft. Gibson lake and had my kids down from Missouri. The surrounding area is nice, with plenty of free camping areas. Friendly camp hosts and the ranger even suggested more free camping areas. The coldest part of winter is over here so it's time to start heading Northwest to Colorado again. Oklahoma has been good but we need more sun and less rain. @scarletreaper headed east from Muskogee to visit her kids, and I went West to visit my grandmother in OKC. Did some visiting, got some laundry done, renewed trailer tag, and got my original favorite Mexican food at Alvarado's.  From OKC I went to Lake Elmer for the last 3 days which was pretty nice. It was a very small lake but got very busy Sunday when the weather was nice. I walked around the lake twice while there. Below the dam I found some interesting gypsum (?) crystals.  Now I am at Canton Lake and have this camping area to myself. It looks great so far, did some exploring on foot before the cold front hit. There are around 35 campsites, and most are level or even paved. Some amenities include covered picnic table, fire pit, charcoal grill, nearby toilet, boat ramp, kid's playground, and a covered event /storm shelter.  We are expecting a pretty nasty cold front over the next few days, so I'm glad I moved today. The only other bad news is the dogs found a porcupine, but I got most of the quills removed.
