ColorChallenge FridaySkyBlue: Soaring Pelican

The wispy marbling of the cloud made for a great background on this photo. I captured this pelican returning form fishing in the surf to the large sand bar in the harbor at Elk Horn Slough where they gather in the hundreds. On their return there have to fly over the sand dune that separates the beach and the harbor. If you wait just on the inland side of the crest of the dune they will fly right over your head. Be on your toes though. They'll poop on you too.
