If you're a Bukowski fan (hell, even if you're not!), this one is a treasure. As per the video intro, Charles Bukowski didn't like to do live poetry readings. He did readings for the money, usually just a couple hundred dollars. Fortunately for him, by 1980 he was making enough money as a writer that he no longer needed to do them. His performances were legendary; captivating anarchy, he'd goad the audience to mutiny and usually challenge someone to a fight. Only several of his readings were ever filmed and this, filmed on March 31 1980 at The Sweetwater Inn in Redondo, California, turned out to be his last.
