Baking at free time | Gem biscuits with icing

Since I was a child I loved this little biscuit. It is so sweet and one special reason that I loved it is the icing topper it had. I used to separate the biscuits and icing and then eat them. Even if I'm not a little one anymore, I still love these biscuits. 

So…. I wanted to try it. Bake it myself. And I baked them so I can bring them when I am visiting my nephew. 

#### Ingredients :

##### For cookie, 

<li> 37g butter </li>
<li> 15g sugar </li>
<li> 57g flour </li>
<li> 1/2tsp vanilla </li>
<li>pinch of salt </li>

 ##### For royal icing, 

<li> 40g egg white </li>
<li> 80g powdered sugar </li>

<br>First beat the butter using the mixer. Butter should be room temperature. I did all this using a whisker because my hand mixer was not working. Then add sugar and mix it with butter until sugar dissolves. I used powdered sugar. So It will be easy and quick to mix and dissolve.

Then add flour salt and vanilla. And mix. It's not a tough dough. By pressing lightly make a ball and then roll out using a pin and don't let it be more thin or thick. Have height of ½ inches. Then cut out little cookies using a cookie cutter or use a bottle cap if you don't have a cookie cutter.

Place a parchment paper on your tray and bake cookies for 10 minutes under 170 celsius. Don' t forget to preheat the oven.

By mixing egg whites in a clean bowl, start making royal icing. Add powdered sugar gradually and beat until the mixer gets stiff peaks. Use any nozzle and pipe royal icing on top of little cookies and baked about 10 minutes. I used white icing and blue icing. You can choose as your preference. 

Then bake it again for 10 minutes. 
Now it is ready 😍.
