New Cosmos Baby in my garden

Cosmos is a plant we can see in a garden usually. And it is easy to grow cosmos at anywhere in the country. You just need to spread few seed on the ground, and it will grow into a fine, beautiful plant. In our area I have only seen yellow and yellow-orange  variations of cosmos. We had these two types of cosmos in our garden also.

Recently, my aunt found out another color while she travels to her village. And she brought some seed. I got few seeds from her and planted it. I couldn’t wait until it blooms. It is Pink. how can I wait.. I didn't see this color before 🙈.

Even if the cosmos we had doesn’t require much attention for growing, this new kind needed more care to grow well. Otherwise, it will not grow into a fine plant. Will bloom since plant is small and it will die soon.

While I was waiting this plant to grow, I took many photos of many stages. First one is the seedling of cosmos.

Even if the original name is Cosmos, we call this plant as “Atapeti” in our language. This name “Atapeti” is originated because that this flower has eight petals itself. Cosmos belongs to the family of Sunflower and daisy which has 20 species[](https://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/cosmos-flower-seeds/all-about-cosmos).

In this plant I have notices that the flower looks in a different colors when it is small and turns into a lighter color when it blooms well. At the first it looks in a maroon color but it looks Pink when it is well grown.

After the flower fades, we can collect seeds from it for the next plantation. But the seeds should be well grown. We can find it by the color of the seed. They should look dark brown or black. Then these seeds are ready to plant.
