# The movie or the strain?
 
It's a question I've often had, and because I'm a stoner, I forget the answer and have it again. Which one came first, the movie or the strain? Did someone make a movie named after a strain, or did someone name a strain after a movie? According to Seth Rogan, who wrote the script, there was no Pineapple Express strain before the movie. So while Seth Rogan isn't directly responsible for creating the Pineapple Express genetics, he certainly is the inspiration behind it.

# The Numbers

Coming in hot at 25% total cannabinoids. It is all ThcA, which is not a bad thing. People wonder how can all these strains that are so ThcA dominant be so different from one another? Terpenes my friend!

# The Look

It looks like it has a lot of sativa qualities, but a hybrid bud structure. Very light green in color with a lot of bright orange hairs.  Real clear trichomes so it doesn't come off as super frosted, and it's colors shine through more.

# The Smell

The smell is like a sweeter trainwreck. You can definitely tell it's got that in it's lineage. It's got a very sweet smell to it, very fruity. There's a hint of durban in there.

# The Taste

It tastes very sweet off the bat. The pineapple/fruity flavor is definitely dominant. There is some piney / woodsy tones in the background which provides a nice foundation. It's no surprise with the name and the genetics on this strain that it's become a popular one.

# The effects and potency

This strain is more on the uplifting side. It's happy and energetic. That makes it a great wake and bake strain, or a strain for when you need to get things done or be in a work space. The potency is a bit lighter, it doesn't smack ya like a lot of the Indicas I love. It does have a bit of a cerebral buzz to it.
