Patents for alexa and google home expose what is really going on with these digital assistants. They are listening to everything you say, and keeping note of it, when you don't even call their name. What a surprise. People have to be seriously dumb to install these in their homes, and yet so many people do. These patents show advanced AI to know who is in the room, what is being implied, they can tell from your pitch what emotion you are in. All to sell you advertising, and surely more. This is disturbing shit. Sheeple are welcoming the orwellian nightmare into their homes.

This is nothing new, of course, Playstation and Xbox with their cameras and built in microphones on Kinect and the equivalent arguably started it. I always ensured mine was disconnected when not in use. TV's are going this way though, or are there. There have been patents for 2 way on them for a while too. I won't connect mine to the internet at all. Sure, I miss out on updates, but I noticed once connected you cant turn the connection off (unless you give it a new incorrect address to connect to, but thats inconvenient as hell). No, you can keep those 'smart' appliances. I know the electricity meters are pretty much forced on us, but I'm determined to deter being mined by these devices as well as everything else for as long as I possibly can.
