Fascinating - I had noticed the difference between handwriting and computer typing. Handwriting is much more fluid and articulate, ideas are better formed and I rarely edit. I went back to hand writing letters, especially business letters to utility providers or the council, some years ago. I came across [this article about older people producing as many brain cells as young people](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/brain-cells-ageing-old-people-grow-new-elderly-young-research-a8291056.html) - I found it very heartening. I suspect the brain is like most other parts of ourselves - it needs use!
