<html> <p>With all of the market changes sweeping through China, it's easy to forget, sometimes, that this is still, in name, a Communist country. There is one place, however, where you can and do run into public propaganda on a routine basis, and that can be public parks. Here are some examples that I found in Xuejia, northern Changzhou.</p> <p><img src="http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/r664/richristow/IMG_20170913_202525_zpsssjeygll.jpg~original" width="889" height="1024"/></p> <p><img src="http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/r664/richristow/IMG_20170913_204143_zpsf44ybvuy.jpg~original" width="938" height="908"/></p> <p> </p> <p>This is a case where it's not just propaganda. I find stuff more interesting as public art. However, over in that Xuejia park, most of it was gernalized. For example, the above is about <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lei_Feng">Lie Feng, a PRC soldier </a>that often shows up in public propaganda. This is also the reason why I often go to parks. It's stuff like this that gives a person starting points when researching local history, when, as an outsider, you don't know where to start. </p> </html>
