Or whatever reason, eating while traveling gets expensive. I spend as much as half the year living in hotel rooms. Most business travelers get some cash from their job to cover food expenses while abroad.
However, if you run your own business, or want to put more money aside, or pay off a debt you may want to try what I have been doing.

I have tried a lot of microwave dinners, and most are pretty bland or low quality. Amy’s on the other hand are always tasty. They are also vegetarian (I am not), if that’s a concern for you. They are also available at all Targets, and Wal-Mart. The later according to google.

So for 1 box of Amys Cheese Enchiladas and 1 can of trappeys you are looking at around 5$.

Substitute a can of no salt added green beans and the sodium content drops by about a gram. You can sprinkle a little seasoning on them, and you can actually enjoy them but have less salt. I use Tony Chacheres, which has 350mg Sodium per ¼ teaspoon. If you need to eat a little more food, I suggest apples. They keep at room temp, and I just bag them and hide them in my luggage. LOL. There are also many other meals that Amys makes that are much lower in fat and a bit on the calories.

I always travel with a can opener. I use a multi tool because I always have to check in a bag. If you are lucky to not have to deal with checking in bags, a standard can opener should be TSA safe.
