Steepshot #12.  The Kaymakli Underground City consists of 8 floors below ground but today, only 4 of them are open to the public. The most important part is on the third floor where you see numerous storage places, wineries.  kitchen with earthenware jars excavated in this area. This shows us that people living in this underground city were quite economically stable.

Cool stuff! I was here the other year and explored this underground city, it was such a labyrinth of tunnels, caves and all in the dark too It was impossible to find your way around without a guide who knew the place.

Yes, the tunnels are very cool. I'll post a picture of that tomorrow.  If we want to go further, we need a guide, but in those areas where there are lights, they let us explore on our own.
