# Utopian.io GIF Contest

Last week, @stellabelle has this amazing idea of running a Utopian.io Contest. You can read the [Utopian post ](https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@utopian-io/utopian-is-having-a-gif-contest-and-you-re-encouraged-to-participate) here. You can read about the Rules and Guidelines there also.
**The Contest **is open to the entire community in which we can all create interesting GIFs to celebrate the open source economy of utopian.io and the Steem blockchain.
They encourage lots of creativity from us and looking forward to what we can come up with as a community.

# Deadline: December 1st, 2017

Today is November 27th already. There are 4 more days left before the deadline to submit our entries. So if you have not tried creating your first GIF, this is the time for you to begin. There is still ample time for you to learn. It doesn't take very long to learn how to create these GIFs.
For each contest entries, all contestants are asked to explain how we created our GIFS. So if you want to see how these GIFS are created, you can always read their posts to see how they are created and followed along to create your first one, if you are a beginner.
# Last Week's Submissions

I've looked at many of the GIFS that were created in the last week. We need a variety of different sofwares of websites to help create the GIFs.
After reading through all the entries, I will list out for you the softwares / websites the constestants use to create their gifs:
1. Photoshop
2. Power Point
3. Giphy.com Site
4. Kizoa Sofware
5. Ezgif.com
6. Camtasia
#### So if you feel that you do not know Photoshop, do not worry. You can also use Powerpoint to create them. If you don't know how to use Power Point or Photoshop, you can always use the available tools that are listed here to create your GIFS.

# Some Samples of GIFS that have been created.

Take a look at some of these GIFS created by the different contestants. I looked through many of them and noticed that for many contestants, it is actually their first time creating GIFS.
So if you have never created GIFS, don't be shy. As you create more and more GIFS, you get better at it.
I will show you some samples created by the different members.

# Hope these GIFS will inspire you to join the Contest.

I think many of us might think we are not creative. I thought so myself. You will be surprised what happens when you start letting your creative juice come out.
I will show you my FIRST Gif.
This first GIF is not very fantastic, is it? It looks quite static because I didn't know how to do beautiful animations yet. But it is OK. It was my first attempt. At least I was able to get the logo blinking from slides to slides. I tried to use the simple 'blinking' to do some animation effect even without any knowledge of making GIF images.
And as time went on during this past week, I created more powerful GIFS.
Here is one to show you what happens as you create more and more submissions:
I found a 'busybee' animation to embed it in the turning world there to show people that Utopian is here. People are busy at Utopian site. Come and see what happens so that they won't be left behind.
*Tip*: Once you have an idea in your head, you can work around that idea to create your GIF file. It doesn't have to be something complicated. You also do not need to be too overwhelmed by adding a lot of animations into the image file. In fact, "More is Less". So keep things simple! That will get you started for your 1st Gif.

# Four More Days Left to Deadline
