*For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.* **Jeremiah 29:11** ![U5duGyPSesHXZbWwTced5zArGwHrQkE_1680x8400.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTfmJvBX1N1eLukfbGqpSqXiRy8evB1LMoaHHJwG7WHpd/U5duGyPSesHXZbWwTced5zArGwHrQkE_1680x8400.jpg) Sometimes we look around in life and what we see is not necessarily what we expect. God's word assures us in **Psalm 23:1** that we shall not lack but we see poverty sometimes. His word assures us of healing but we feel sickness in our bodies. In such instances, we are tempted to doubt our opening verse; that God would take us to an expected end. In such times we should remember that God never promised us an expected means but an expected end. This implies that everything we are going through is just a means to an end but definitely not the end itself. This thought should stir up hope and excitement in us; to know that its not yet over. That the fact that what we see in our lives is not what we see in scripture or in our hearts should be a sign unto us that God is not yet finished with us. Like any work in progress, the process can appear quite messy but the end is always worth the wait. Bible says in **2 Cor. 4:18b,** *"the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are unseen are eternal."* So take heart and be encouraged. It's not over until its over. >LIFE APPLICATION When faced with an unexpected situation just remember its not the end; but simply a means. PRAYER Father, thank you that you have an expected end in store for me.
