Architecture – Thinking Outside the Box
## Achieving self actualization as an architect seems like it would be a dream job for those fortunate individuals who possess the requisite aptitudes and artistic vision.
Architects straddle the line between art and creativity on the one hand, and practicality and utility on the other.  Of course they also must be well versed in engineering, materials, health, safety and environmental considerations, regulations, and more.  I guess what I'm attempting to express is that they have a very demanding profession that has the potential to be extremely rewarding.

*Obwohl mein Verständnis von Architektur zugegebenermaßen begrenzt ist, erinnert es mich in einem Aspekt an Musik. Es gibt Jazzmusiker, die komplexe und geniale Musik kreieren, die aber nur die wenigen anspricht, die es verstehen können - und dann gibt es jemanden wie Miles Davis, den fast jeder zu schätzen weiß. Aus dieser Perspektive scheint diese Dynamik auch in der modernen Architektur zu geschehen. Although my understanding of architecture is admittedly limited, in one aspect it reminds me of music.  There are jazz musicians who create  complex and ingenious music which only appeals to the rare few who are capable of understanding it – and there is someone like Miles Davis whom nearly everyone seems to appreciate.  From afar, that same dynamic seems to happen in modern architecture too.  I wonder how someone could not be enthralled when he or she experiences the architecture of the Catalan master Antoni Gaudí?

Here in Germany I've always been attracted to the round room features of some of the 18th and early 19th century buildings.  Here is an example from my post a few months ago about Baden-Baden in the Black Forest.

# Round Rules
Thanks to YouTube autoplay, unexpectedly a video came up about houses that were designed to withstand extremely high winds and heavy snowfall.  If you are from a warm climate that may surprise you.  I vividly remember when I first moved to the Alps how surpised I was to see a crew of workers who were specialized in clearing the snow off of roofs.  Beleive it or not, buildings can cave in due to snow.  In any case, I was blown away by the dome houses of the Russian company ***Skydome.***

Although their website is only in Russian, which I don't understand, with a bit of effort I was able to learn a bit about them.  That is indeed one of their advantages, they do very well in high winds and with heavy snowfall.

# *Rund ist Gesund*
*Dank YouTube-Autoplay ist heute unerwartet ein Video über Häuser gelaufen, die extrem starken Winden und Schneefall gewachsen sind. Wenn man in einem warmen Klima lebt, ist das vielleicht überraschend. Ich erinnere mich sehr gut daran, als ich in die Alpen zog, wie überrascht ich war, eine Mannschaft von Arbeitern zu sehen, die darauf spezialisiert waren, den Schnee von Dächern zu befreien. Ob du es glaubst oder nicht, Gebäude können aufgrund von Schnee einbrechen. Auf jeden Fall war ich von den Domhäusern der russischen Firma ***Skydome*** sehr begeistert.* 

*Obwohl ihre Website nur auf Russisch ist, was ich nicht spreche, konnte ich mit ein wenig Aufwand etwas über sie erfahren. Domhäuser haben in der Tat einen Vorteil, was starkem Wind und Schneefall betrifft.*

# They Export Too

I also learned they they export their houses.  Here in Germany I don't recall having ever seen a dome house, zoning restrictions are no doubt part of the reason.  In Austria they seem to enjoy more freedom in that regards.  In America I have seen quite a few doom houses, although I must admit most of them seemed weather worn and not especially appealing.

Nonetheless, the available options and aesthetics of this company's homes impressed me, so I decided to share it with you here on steemit.

# Ein Haus aus Rußland?
*Hier in Deutschland kann ich mich nicht erinnern, jemals ein Domhaus gesehen zu haben, Zonenbeschränkungen sind zweifellos ein Grund dafür. In Österreich scheinen sie in dieser Hinsicht mehr Freiheit zu genießen. In Amerika habe ich ziemlich viele Domhäuser gesehen, obwohl ich zugeben muss, dass die meisten von ihnen vom Wetter ziemlich abgenutzt wirkten und nicht besonders ansprechend waren.*

*Nichtsdestotrotz haben mich die verfügbaren Optionen und die Ästhetik der Häuser dieser Firma so beeindruckt, dass ich mich entschlossen habe, sie hier auf Steemit mit euch zu teilen.*

Das haben wir uns auch schon angeschaut und durchkalkuliert. Am Ende ist dann doch die Entscheidung gefallen in eine viereckige Wohnung in Miete zu ziehen und dann die Pläne zu schmieden, wie wir auf Weltreise gehen können.

Das könnte ich mir vorstellen, wobei zu bedenken ist, dass der Raum vermutlich erst mit Maß gefertigten Möbeln  so richtig zur Geltung kommt.

I wonder if we could ever get something like that approved here in Germany?  I think in Austria you might have a chance.  In any case, they seem affordable, but I wonder if that is the "kit" price?  In that case you would need to add in the assembly.

I also guess it's just the kit price, but still very affordable for such a unique home. Would also be great at the sea. If Germany doesn't allow it, I will have to move to another country ;-) I love all the rooms, really inspiring post. Thanks again for sharing.

Sehr schön anzusehen :-) Ich nehme an, dass die Kugelform gerade in kälteren Regionen Vorteile hat, da sie  das geringste Oberflächen/Volumen-Verhältnis bietet und somit an Heizenergie einspart.
