Going through the social media platforms of Seele, one would notice their dedication to their supporters. Seele gives weekly developments on the strides they have made in achieving their goals. They run multiple programs to keep their supporters engaged. Seele has even given their supporters the term ‘Seeler’ referring to anyone who follows them on social media or who is in support of the blockchain they are developing. Seele often requests for their opinions on different matters which they feel that having their supporters’ opinion would be best. 

✅Meet up locations and other activities that involve interaction between the Seele team and Seeler’s are usually open to public opinions, for example, at the beginning of the month of June, Seele requested their supporters to select the next city for the Seele meet up between Melbourne and Hong Kong. A number of people participated showing the active engagement Seele has with their potential users and supporters. But what makes the Seele platform so special? This article will explore some of the features that make the Seele protocol stand out from the likes of Ethereum, Cosmos and EOS. It will attempt to show why Seele labels itself as blockchain 4.0.

# ***Where is Blockchain Heading to?*** 

***Sure, blockchain is a disruptive system, but is there a future for the technology?*** 

Recently, the EOS mainnet was down due to a bug, EOS is addressing the issue but it caused a slowdown in operations due to the pause of transactions being carried out on the platform. EOS is supposed to be like the standard of blockchain 3.0, a step better than the Ethereum platform. Improvements on scalability, storage and efficiency are made in blockchain 3.0 but the recent EOS set back shows that there is still much work to be done on blockchain protocols. 

✅Blockchain, as aforementioned, is supposed to be this disruptive force that threatens the existence of centralized platforms. However, it has not lived to the hype that surrounds it. It has suffered setbacks that create some skepticism around the technology. Blockchain can still disrupt centralized platforms if its execution is done in a progressive manner. The world keeps on growing and protocols need to be designed with this in mind. For blockchain to be taken up by a large portion of the world, for it to stand above centralized platforms, users need to be assured that they will get better services from decentralization compared to centralized applications. This means better security, better storage options, better speeds of transactions, efficient value exchange and variety have to be offered through this protocol. 

✅Enter the Seele platform, or blockchain 4.0. Its whitepaper has highlighted the changes it is making from traditional protocols to revamp blockchain protocols, leading the way in what could be termed as an overhaul of the old era, and ushering in to a new era that will achieve the vision that most developers had for blockchain technology. It will do this while still offering a great token economy to users of its platform. The confidence in Seele is already being seen as it has been listed in the HADAX platform. # ***Changes Made from Previous Generation Protocols***

Part of the reason or even the main reason why professional investors are trading on Seele assets is because of the change it will bring to the blockchain sphere. Seele’s platform is set for release later on this year and with it comes changes that will make blockchain more efficient in its function. There are energy saving options that will be introduces, scalability improving methods that will be used and overall revamp from the known protocol construction to what may be the standard of any future blockchain protocol. Here are some of the challenges faced by previous blockchains and the aspects of Seele that are likely to address these challenges thereby promoting adoption of blockchain by a greater portion of the world’s populations. 

➡️Blockchain is immutable, hence all the data stored on a particular chain never gets deleted or changes. This is likely to cause a data storage problem as participants in a certain chain increase, or as more data is fed into this chain. There is also the issue of blockchain being a trustless network, which causes organizations to be a bit skeptical as they may not fully trust whoever or whatever is storing their data. For blockchain to be taken up by such organizations and by more people, it has to be built in such a way that adapts to data storage demands and also fulfill the privacy issues that organizations have with current blockchain protocols in place. 

Seele’s solution on storage on its public blockchain involves having both off-chain and on-chain storage facilities. IPFS will be used by the Seele platform to incorporate off-chain storage while the NVTP (Naming value transfer protocol) will be used for the on-chain storage option. Mapping between on-chain storage and off-chain storage is to be made possible by the extension of MDDS (Meta data directory specification) to a resource description framework. 

Data storage on the Seele protocol involves easy steps. Data is first uploaded into the network where it is hashed before being copied to allow its off-chain storage using the IPFS. Retrieving the data is made simple through the hashing process. During retrieval of the data, once the hash is provided, the node which stored this data can easily be located.

Seele will also employ the use of their own virtual machine (VM) and sandbox for better execution and protection of data. This will also help in compatibility with other network protocols thus providing developers with more tools to base their decentralized applications on. More real-world use cases of Seele can arise from this set up. 
Any business with sensitive information can trust the Seele protocol with their data as it will be secure at all times while still being adaptable to the needs that may arise as more people adopt blockchain technology. 

➡️There was a time Ethereum charged some crazy transaction fees and the transaction speeds were painfully slow. This was attributed to the video game, Crypto Kitties that was running on the Ethereum protocol. Games usually require raw power and speed on their own, coupled up with the needs of other applications in the protocol; any unprepared protocol could have had the same results as Ethereum did. 

Running any application on blockchain of course has benefits that centralized applications do not have. Better security and transparency wins over any convenience that centralization brings. However, majority like their comfort zones, blockchain then has to adapt to this comfort zone by giving users an equal or greater experience while they use their platforms. 

Seele employs the use of a heterogeneous forest network and a neural consensus algorithm to meet the demand of transaction speeds that a fully operational protocol may require, about 1M TPS or even greater. Handling transactions from gaming, social media, business, fintech and any other profession-based or recreational applications requires great TPS if the protocol were to run efficiently. The neural consensus mechanism quickens the consensus process by making voting continuous. It also improves from the high-energy demand proof of work consensus mechanism that demanded more from miners and nodes.

Seele will provide developers with a great platform that can support all their innovative ideas allowing them to offer rewards to users of their applications, thereby attracting even more people into the Seele protocol. Seele also has a linear scalability feature that is supported by its architecture. It allows for the platform to grow without compromising on quality of service. It actually improves its services as more people use the platform. Seele’s fault tolerance levels will also be considerably higher compared to blockchain protocol standards that currently exist. Seele will have a fault tolerance of 40% which is 7% greater than the byzantine agreement. This makes for a platform that runs smoothly on both high and low user days. 

➡️Developers had this challenge with protocols from blockchain 1.0 and 2.0 where they could not easily navigate the protocol to create applications in good time. There were other application creation challenges as well that hindered the creativity and innovation of developers to be exploited fully. Without developers working on new applications for blockchain, blockchain can as well be dead. These applications are the lifeline and future of blockchain technology. Seele will provide developers with a conducive working environment within their protocol where they can work effectively and efficiently on new applications or improve on old ones. Software development kits and a plug-in store for the basic or common items in software development are being worked on by Seele and will be made possible on their protocol. The SDK may support cross-platform development but that may be still under development. Seele may also provide an application development tool that covers all areas of development right from development of the software and smart contracts to their deployment. Testing of these products will also be supported by the development tool. 

# ***Conclusion***

Each of these improvements works to make blockchain better therefore easily adopted by the mainstream loving majority. If there can be a blockchain ‘Facebook’ or ‘Twitter’ or a YouTube equivalent in blockchain, more people may be bound to accept this technology. Blockchain is more transparent and offers better security to user data therefore problems such as data breaches or user data rights infringements may be past tense with blockchain. Better services in fintech and healthcare are also bound to come up because of a great blockchain system. Seele is leading the direction blockchain may take into the future and professional investors have already seen its potential as a world-changing platform. 

There is a lot of potential in Seele, only time will show its greatness.
