Today, I am going to share a little more than I usually do about how I create one of my designs. If you don't want to have the entire mystery solved for you, simply refrain from scrolling all the way to the bottom of the post. :D

This energetic pattern came from a photo I took walking down the street in San Luis Obispo, California. This one picture became the source of about 20 legit designs for me...it was the gift that kept on giving! 

We had just finished a good sweaty hike up Bishop Peak and were headed to eat at Firestone Grill (if you are a meat lover, I highly recommend this place). Parked on the street, I saw this Jeep with the spare tire mounted on the back. The rim on the spare was so spectacular!...a mirror finish and a cool, layered design. I thought I would use the opportunity to take an abstract selfie. The selfie didn't really work out, it had more of a fun house / freak show look to it (more abstract than I bargained for) BUT I did end up with KaPow! and all of its siblings. I counted the momentary encounter a success! 

This all goes to show that you can find beauty everywhere, even in unexpected ways.
