There is a point when you will realize that a sense of security and taking of risks are mutually exclusive. This is because, most times, sense of security is borne out of fears. The fears you refuse to challenge is the same thing that is keeping you from taking risks and limiting you from making evident progress. The truth is, it only takes risks to cure fear.

The two innate fears in humans (according to popular researches) are fear of falling and of loud noise. What this means is that all the other fears that people have are acquired or learnt overtime. Humorously enough, some of these fears are not real but just some fragments of imagination created by the mind and now controls the body. How weird it is for someone's actions and inactions to be controlled by something that is not real.
Each time you go against your fears to take steps and risks, you will be surprised that you have been fearing for nothing in the first place. Just like it has been said; whenever you do what you are afraid of the most, that particular fear will lose their grip on you. People that have made massive impact on the sands of time are those that decided to move against the tide and do what feared them the most.
What could be scarier than trying out new invention when people have concluded that it will never work? Well, the Wright brothers did it when they invented the airplane. They took the flight without recourse to the obvious risks attached to it and today, they are still remembered for the impact they made in aviation and aeronautics.
If you refuse to take risks at any point in your life, you are only giving attention to your fears and empowering them to grow bigger. Once they grow bigger, you will need more risks to counter them. This is why you do not have to give any room to grow your fears.

You would be surprised at the kind of power you are able to wield but the only thing limiting you is your fear. You may not know what you are capable of until you have given it a trial. The only way to give expression to your inner strength is by taking risks. Always remember that you are not doing yourself good by avoiding risks because this is one of the requirements for success.
