Sometimes it may be too hard to let go, but the truth is; no mater how long you hold on to the past, it will not get it changed. As a matter of fact, until time machine is invented and people can travel back in time, it is practically impossible to alter the past.

However, even if you may not be able to alter the past, you can perform an acton in the present that can set your paths aright and chart a glorious future for you. This is the reason you need to take your mind off the past.

It is called "past" because it has passed and if you do not want to pass away with the past, then you must re-align your gaze and your attention from the past to the present and the future.

This statement may seem a little straight but it is the truth - "it is either of these two options: It is either you leave the past or you live in the past". Of course, I may just have to tell y'all that to live in the past means to be dead to the present.

Now I ask you this question: In a car race, for example, what do you think will happen to the driver that constantly places his eyes at the back? Obviously, he will be in for the crash of his life, and he will not be able to win the race because his attention is not in front. In the same way, to go forward in life, you have to; as a matter of necessity; let go of the past.

The reason why the car's windscreen is far larger in size than the back glass is because where the driver is going (which is forward) is more important than the back (which is where he's coming from). Well, that's also the reason the reverse gear is just one - obviously, you are not expected to dwell long on reverse. But the forward drive has five (six in some cases) gears, because progress is based on forward motion.

No matter how bad or rough your past might have been, there is still a chance of putting things right today to save your tomorrow. Remember this; as long as you are still breathing, you still have all it takes to chart a glorious tomorrow for yourself.
