En esta ocasion, hablaremos de uno de los mejores defensores de la historia, y uno de los valuartes del mejor FC Barcelona de la historia, Carles Puyol, alias Tarzan.
Puyi, como tambien era conocido Carles Puyol, llego a las filas de La Masia del FC Barcelona a la edad de 15 años, debutando en el Barcelona B y jugando mas de 80 partidos oficiales en dicha categoria; recibiendo en el año 2000, el llamado por parte del Tecnico Louis Van Gaal en el primer equipo Cule, donde lograria encajar como lateral derecho, alternando como central ocasionalmente, portando el numero 26 en sus primeras temporadas.
Ya en el año 2003, firma su primera renovacion de su contrato co el conjunto Azulgrana, que lo ataria a dicho club hasta el año 2007, teniendo una clausula de rescision de 180 millones de euros y convirtiendose en pieza fundamental del equipo gracias a sus dotes defensivos.
Su primer titulo lo ganaria en el año 2005, donde ganaria la Liga Española, ya siendo capitan y valuarte de la medula del conjunto del FC Barcelona; al año siguiente, lograria levantar, como capitan del equipo la segunda Orejona de la historia del equipo, luego de la conseguida en el año 92 por el Dream Team que fue dirigido por Johan Cruyff; en esa Champions League del año 2006, compartio vestuario con Ronaldinho, Xavi, Iniesta, Eto'o, Belletti, Marquez, y un joven Lionel Messi, quien no pudo jugar en la final de Paris, ya que se encontraba lesionado.

En el año 2008, se consagro campeon de la Eurocopa, jugando un torneo fantastico, acompañado en la zaga por Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique y Joan Capdevila; equipo que de la mano del tecnico Luis Aragones, comenzo una hegemonia Europea y Mundial consagrando a Carles Puyol como uno de los mejores defensores de la historia.
En el 2009 y 2011, Puyi, siendo capitan y lider del FC Barcelona, logro levantar por segunsa y tercera vez la UEFA Champions League, ambas contra el mismo rival en la gran final, el Manchester United Ingles, dirigido en ese momento por Sir Alex Ferguson.

En la temporada 2010, Carles Puyol toco el cielo con las manos, al coronarse junto con la seleccion española, como los Campeones del mundo en la Copa celebrada en Sudafrica, marcando un extraordinario tanto en las semifinales, contra la seleccion Alemana, tras un centro de Xavi Hernandez desde el Corner, donde llego sin marca y conecto un formidable cabezazo, para sentenciar el partido 1 a 0; en dicho mundial, fue condecorado siendo colocado en el equipo ideal de la copa mundial de la fifa.
Su retiro de la seleccion española se genero tras no poder disputar la Eurocopa del año 2012, tras una lesion en la rodilla izquierda, que lo comenzo a marginar de las convocatorias del Barça.

Su retiro oficial del futbol, se dio en la temporada 2014, despues de 19 años en la institucion, y 15 en el primer equipo, dejando unas estadisticas de 776 partidos jugados, convirtiendo 25 goles entre seleccion y club, y ganando un total de 24 titulos.
Defimitivamente Tarzan, fue uno de los mejores defensores de toda su generacion, enseñandonos como se juega con pasion y garra, y sus momentos memorables haciendo dupla de centrales con Rafa Marquez, Gerard Pique y Javier Mascherano.
