Instinctive cooks
I don't understand why people think all women are good at cooking instinctively. Cooking is an art and not everyone is good at it. Not everyone is a singer or painter, similarly not everyone can spread out a 4 course meal that is finger lickingly delicious.

I admit I suck at cooking. I didn't know how to make tea until I was married. Cooking for me was making in instant noodles. I managed other house chores well, but cooking was something that didn't interest me. I had told my husband that I just knew how to light a stove and make instant noodles and nothing more than that and he said that's perfectly fine. Sadly, my mother in law thought that all women are instinctively cooks and she believed I was a woman.

Hell broke loose when she told me to cook ok lunch and all I could do with confidence was chop vegetables. She raised her eyebrows and asked me if I am actually a female and I ( ascared 18 year old) replied a 'yes' with tears rolling down my eyes. She demanded to know how I wasted theast 18 years of my life when my sole responsibility was to learn cooking for she fucking wanted to relax. She said that she was all of 21 when she got married and was her daddy's princess who didn't allow her to even lift a cup, but she could make delicious and beautiful dishes the moment she stepped inside her marital home.

I did learn cooking in the coming years after my marriage. I can now manage to cook a fairly taste meal to ensure my family doesn't die of starvation. I never got to taste that yummy meal that my mother in law had the expertise in for she stopped entering the kitchen after my wedding. She doesn't like what I cook, but eats it to live.

Sad that she didn't understand that I was managing my studies after And before my marriage unlike her who was staying at home being daddy's princess. And even if u stayed at home, I would not have learnt cooking for it didn't interest me. I wish she understood that every individual is different and there are things which may not interest me, but are loved by her or vice versa.
