### Buenas tardes, estimados amigos lectores. El texto de hoy se refiere a la importancia que tienen las ilustraciones en los cuentos infantiles. Es una breve reseña a través de algunas reflexiones que hago desde mi experiencia docente y el estudio de la literatura infantil.

Las diferentes líneas del pensamiento, desde múltiples perspectivas, han resaltado las ilustraciones como fundamentales en la literatura infantil; así, de igual forma, el mercado de los libros ilustrados constituye un espacio económico importante, donde las grandes editoriales han comenzado a exigir una mejor calidad de trabajo a los ilustradores y escritores.

The different lines of thought, from multiple perspectives, have highlighted illustrations as fundamental in children's literature; thus, in the same way, the market for illustrated books constitutes an important economic space, where large publishers have begun to demand a better quality of work from illustrators and writers.

Las ilustraciones pueden ser valoradas desde diversas perspectivas, tanto las teorías del conocimiento, como las líneas del pensamiento, en diferentes períodos de la historia, han reflejado sus tendencias pictóricas en los libros para niños, por constituirse en un gusto natural que resalta la inclinación visual como uno de los canales preferentes de aprendizaje.

Al igual que el juego es la actividad rectora del niño, las imágenes en los textos escritos son elementos de enganche para animar y dar sentido a la actividad de leer en educación infantil. Son diversos los autores que defienden la tesis de que las ilustraciones son indispensables para apoyar la comprensión de la lectura.

Inclusive, si el niño no sabe leer, las ilustraciones atraen su curiosidad; podríamos hablar de un “lenguaje visual” que complementa en forma extraordinaria la historia, permitiendo así que la mente se vuelque a un mundo sin límites, donde la fantasía es mediadora del viaje hacia todo lo que hace posible la imaginación.

Desde el punto de vista perceptivo: posiciones, formas, texturas, colores y tamaños, conjuntamente con las técnicas de las que disponen los medios digitales, hacen el contexto ideal para trabajar desde la lúdica y lo estético todo un campo visual que retará la curiosidad y la motivación para que el niño desee regresar a las fuentes de lectura.

From the perceptual point of view: positions, shapes, textures, colors and sizes, together with the techniques available to digital media, make the ideal context to work from playfulness and aesthetics a whole visual field that will challenge curiosity and the motivation for the child to want to return to reading sources.

Conquistar la atención de los niños para que vuelquen su intelecto y sus competencias como lectores a la actividad lectora no es tarea fácil, ni que se dé por anticipada, pues todo el conjunto: texto, ilustraciones y medios, deben conjugarse en una sinergia totalizadora que garantice el disfrute permanente.

Conquer the attention of children so that they turn their intellect and their skills as readers to the reading activity is not an easy task, nor is it given in advance, since the whole set: text, illustrations and media, must be combined in a totalizing synergy that guarantee permanent enjoyment.
