Medical knowledge the world possesses right now is enormous. People did very big surgeries a decade ago. And now, there's only a small incision. But it wasn't always like this. A Century ago, Medical knowledge that doctors possesses was so low comparing to these days.

"The Knick" is a great series which we can compare the knowledge between the centuries. The Knick is a Cinemax Original TV Series started in2014 and consists of only Two Season. And you know what..it was directed by Steven Soderbergh.

<b>Dr. John W. Thackeray</b></center><h5></h5>
The Knick or Knickerbocker Hospital is a respectable Hospital in New York. Dr. John W. Thackeray (Clive Owen) is a doctor who worked there in the earlier of 20th Century.He's a great Doctor and mostly specialized in surgeries. And you get to know that even if he's a doctor, he's a Cocaine Addict too. And he tries his best not to compromise his professional life with it. To know whether his try was successful, you better watch the series..

Dr. Thackeray is so intelligent and practical. But the problem is it's not enough..  so he mostly fails in surgeries. Nowadays Cesarean Surgeries are so common. But those days, the mortal percentage was almost 100%. At the time in The Knick, he develops his practical knowledge and ride up to the top.

<b>Surgery in Theatre</b></center><h5></h5>
You know in 1900s, the racism was so high. And in the meantime, hospital authorities hire an African - American doctor, Dr. Algernon who has great experience from Europe. But the hospital won't welcome him. By the time passing, Dr Thackeray understands what a genius he is.. Then The Knick became more efficient than before..

With all this, the racism in America is so highlighted. At the start, African - Americans were not allowed to attend the The Knick. African -American doctors were not allowed to work there. There were separate hospitals for them. And New York got a new problem with the unity of whites and blacks at The Knick. 

Not only medical activities here. Some love stories are going on. Struggles in rich families and their connections with mob... all are connected with the base storyline. So we won't feel like drifting away from it.

I don't know how I missed this. It has a well written plot. All episodes has an energy in it. You know, young  won't feel any bore if you have no fear to look at the blood. 

The series wasn't cancelled until 2017.I don't know why they cancelled. May be Cinemax had a lot in the plate for their budget those days. But still Steven Soderbergh has an idea of taking it to 3rd season with HBO. Let's see about it.

Ratings are fairly great. This shares nearly a lifestyle  experience with spectators. That's what I liked in the episodes I watched. Hope you enjoy it..
