One afternoon, you are taking a walk in the countryside, when all of a sudden your older child cries "Watch out, snake!" You look down and see there's a small snake slithering very fast, just near your right foot. You freeze instantly.&nbsp;</p>

What an interesting story @sandzat. Knowledge is power they say. But I say information is power when action is taking. 
Sequel to information giving by the small daughter for me it's the daughter safe there life's with the information she receive and clear to me that never stop children from study or from receive information you can never tell when it will be useful.
Your mindset is your lifeset...creating all possible mean to help the small daughter in the area of study is the best line of action.

I will never change password of the computer, in fact I will help my daughter by get her mobile phone with internet access to dig more information knowing that someday she will become a great researcher. cool in my community it is everyday information #minnowhale. #minnowtosupport

@papa-pepper, you score phenomenally high on the awesome-o-meter! Seriously, this is proof! :) 

My intention for the writing contest was to present an interesting situation filled with visual treats (Your close up shots are terrifying amazing!)!  And then get participants to put their thinking caps on to provide insights into how they'd deal with a difficult parenting decision. 

I'm glad to see parents/parents-in-the-future stepping forward to articulate their views.

This is a great contest.
First of all I need to warn my daugther not to simply go to any website. There are many dangerous websites that can harm her. If she comes across any new website, she need my permission to surf there.

Then I will check out the Steemit website to see what type of content is there. I discovered that Steemit is actually a social media platform that actually pays users for their contribution. How amazing. At the end I decided to join Steemit as well.

What a dilemma brilliant !!!

Firstly I would be very impressed that she knew this and had done research herself. This show a great intelligence and that she is not controlled by the indoctrination camps we have (Schools). She would most definitively be congratulated on her knowledge and initiative.

Next I would go home an help her set up a @Steemit account. Making sure that I had blocked what I could using parental controls. I would not tell her off but I would advise to be careful on the internet as just in normal life the are bad things around but not to worry. 

I think if you make too much of a big deal over the bad. But still you need to be realistic an factual. So as not too cause 1 off 2 things :  1) it puts then off her clear passion for learning something she is interested in 2) Encourages them to look for this bad stuff. The Internet is a part of life now. 

One thing I would make sure I told her it not to spend too much time on it and to make sure she gets out into nature as well and learn that way too :)

I glad you agree, I disagree with our education system of fear and wrapping in cotton wool. Yes we need to protect kids for the evils in society but we also need them to know they are there and there effects. And sometimes they might get scared or hurt themselves but from that they will learn.
