Here is a fresh update on spam/plagiarism.

We have detected a few accounts & their act of plagiarism during our investigation this week. Although the window to spam/plagiarize is very narrow with the introduction of new thresholds in Crypto Academy, some users are just trying their way out to leech the reward pool. But the crypto academy and investigating team are more seasoned now to detect and ward off any such attempt.

Whilst the new threshold(min rep 50 & min SP 100) acts as a proactive measure, timely reporting of spam/plagiarism cases is a reactive measure to tidy up the Steem Blockchain.

**Plagiarism is an act of stealing the content of others and representing it as their own content and/or passing off content without acknowledgment of the real authorship.**

We have found a new pattern recently-- most probably the repeat offenders who were blocklisted in Season 1 have created new accounts and trying to boost their reputation in tandem using Tipu. We do cast our doubt on such accounts and the investigation is still on. We will report it here once the investigation is completed.

We believe that we have to be more careful when we curate the new accounts, particularly the ones who joined in May 2021 and suddenly grew in reputation.

We will keep fighting this good fight. The coordinated community effort will defeat such insidious acts.
