trying to hold on
the fury of nature
the aftermath of its wrath 
the waters receded 
the banks shallow
the sands that are stolen
for building more concrete walls
trying to outshine nature
man has done it all
the time now for payback 
there is yet a chance
to preserve the planet for the kids
to destroy it takes but a nanosecond 
to build, it takes a long time
responsibility is a virtue 
sadly,  shirked by many without a second thought
