Andre Gray's Football Academy:Drill #2-Control and Passing.

This week's exercise is the number #2, control and passing. Each stage of the football player's life will require a different methodology and a different task development, but in all of them you have to try to get the player to develop a correct capacity for guide the control of the ball well, while overlooking the work of laterality in the handling of the ball.
We all know that a good control of the ball, whatever the moment of the game in which it takes place, makes the task to be accomplished much easier and the goal set by the team that owns the ball.
In order to improve this technical action, an improvement in the control orientation must be achieved, since a ball control with the desired and correct orientation is undoubtedly a detail that can decide a match.

**The types of control to be learned by the player in training would be the following:**

**Classic controls:**
Stop
semi-detached
Damping

**Oriented controls:**

Double control with feint
Double control with dribbling
Control-pass

The stop of the ball: It is the type of control of the ball that manages to immobilize it totally. It is a resource that every footballer must master, since it is at the base of the rest of the control movements, but it is not very useful for the professional soccer game, since it slows the pace of the game.

**Recommended exercise for initiation ages**

**Description of the exercise**

A square of 10 × 10 meters is delimited with four players on the sides and one in the middle who will receive passes and must play with the partner on his back (prolongation). Example: 1 goes to 5, 5 performs an oriented control and extends to 3. Next, 2 goes to 5 and it plays with 4 and so on.

Each player will perform two repetitions (turns) and in each series the exercises will be modified to work different ways of controlling:

Control and pass with the same leg (interior or plant)
Control with one leg and pass with the other (outside)
