Please not a lottery,  i don't have luck in money games ; )

Honestly, I think that's how I HAVE been looking at it. And I think that's what's letting me down, just like when I play lottery. What I need to do is concentrate on making sure that what I post is the best of my best, which I've been trying to do. There's been a few hits, but no home runs...

I think I tend to take a longer range view of steemit. I don't look for it to be a lottery. Over the long time I think it will evolve to include a type of work ethic if it is to survive. This post is great ! It's definitely an idea I haven't thought about. 

I feel like people need to be more grateful for what they have! No other social network platform pays to create and curate content. Why are people so pissy? Even if you make just 100.00 you made more on here then you did on Facebook.

So this is the new propaganda to pacify those that put a lot of time and effort into creating good content only to be ignored/buried under feces?  It sure seems like it's miles away from the talk early on about rewarding content fairly.  

You know what's crazy?  I don't play the lottery, or gamble, because it's a waste of my time and the main thing it does is make rich dickheads more rich.  Most people realize this and only the ignorant and desperate don't.  Have you ever stood in line at a convenience store while the toothless obese morons in front of you buy ticket after ticket, losing $30 to win $10 and calling it a victory?  Pushing the, "Hey! It's a lottery!" approach, is going to bring in more ignorant and desperate, which is exactly what's happening here. Not my idea of good content or the crowd I'd like to be interacting with.

This is smelling more and more like another ponzi scheme as time goes on.  

I really hope that someone takes the open source code and develops an altruistic, intelligent alternative to steemit.  It could have been a great idea.

The thing is that you have to have that great post that will make a whale vote for you.  I have started a month ago, and I was posting only crap. Seriously.  Some domain names that I have, some brexit news, etc. CRAP:))
Then, luck  started  to come to me with the curation  of Steemit 101- the Amazon book review and gained 200 STEEM.

I think we are lucky to be paid anything.  I have seen some posts that totally deserve it then others that have made me think what was that . Good luck to anyone who manages to earn, as they say every little bit  helps

You make a fair point but my only objection to this is that the lotteries are a delusion. Your chances of winning are 1 in 'x' number of millions. Yes people still play the lottery regardless and that is why to some extent I agree with what you're saying. However, it undermines the philosophy of what this platform is and what separates from the others, which ultimately I think would be harmful to it's success. It doesn't encourage quality content. It would encourage posting for the sake of posting to be in with a chance at the draw.
