### <center>Going off the beaten track, I ran into a couple awesome things today!</center>

This morning I finished work early and had plans to meet the family and some friends for a *crafts fair*.  While the meeting point is about an hour and a half away from my job, I had quite a lot of hours to *burn*...  I was out of work by 8 in the morning! 

I'd like to find a different vocabulary for this, because *burning time* assumes *wasting it* or *throwing it away*.  As you may already know, I'm not a big fan of using this **precious commodity** we all have, called **time**.

### Take the road less traveled to explore...
<p>

First I stopped in a delicatessen to have breakfast, sitting down out of the cold and I answered some comments on my steemit account.  And then I decided to go to our meeting point, taking the road less traveled to explore on the way.  I took the small roads, it took longer than if I had taken the highways but I found what I was looking for!

Conveniently I stopped at a small State Park along a canal and I took a walk to see if it wasn't too late to harvest acorns... I was listening to [Danel Vatalis](http://www.danielvitalis.com/rewild-yourself-podcast/) talking about acorn processing and recipes. I didn't find any but I had a really nice walk.

I came accross some berries I will try to identify, an old nest of some sort and a plack that stated this was the *route of Washington's march by night from Trenton to Princeton and Victory, January the 3rd of 1777*.

I was happy I walked a bit in the cold looking around trying to identify trees by the bark. I found some berries I would like to know more about.

Not much further up the road, I thought I was in Europe somewhere, with pretty stone bridges and houses, probably dating back to the 16th century, maybe?
