The abnormal heat that swept Spain led to the death of at least six people just this week, reports Ukr.Media.

People are dying from heat strokes. The 81-year-old man died in the Extremadura area, west of the Spanish capital of Madrid. For the same reason, a 40-year-old German pilgrim died in the province of Caceres.

Spanish officials said that two more people, probably homeless, died in a hospital in Barcelona after they were found unconscious on the street.

In the north-east of the country, in the city of Murcia, a 78-year-old man died while working on a farm, and a 48-year-old man died on the highway. The reason was the same high temperature.

The Life Safety Organization announced that two women, aged 83 and 22, Portuguese and Spanish nationals, remain hospitalized. Dozens of other people are treated for dehydration.

The reason for the abnormal heat is the flow of hot air that came to Europe last week from the African continent. According to the weather, the temperature will begin to decline from Tuesday through a cool cyclone from the Atlantic Ocean.
