Got this fixed as well before I found out it's actually the gasket leak. Since it's a cheap fix so figured out why not, old parts gotta go anyways.  It's actually steel made for underneath that car part. As for the one near the engine it is steel braided. Gotta change all the hoses, there are many rats around who tend to bite these parts, especially brake hose that needs to be taken care / supervised from time to time. Wouldn't want to have any issue that puts my life in danger right? Especially motorheads that tend to drive high speed, of course when no ones around :) For me, I rather go for safety precaution instead of throwing all the money into upgrades in terms of performance. In games like Need for Speed, simulator then yes. You crash, you can press reset and start over. But not in REAL LIFE, of course driving fast is not practical, but I do understand the weight of your right foot for certain drivers. Be fast and be safe
