When I wrote my update on June 7th, I thought I was on the mend from an illness and ready to get back to writing the Steemit Ramble. Apparently my mind wrote a bigger cheque than my body could deliver. The following day I was admitted to hospital with a massive infection. 

I’ve been home a couple of weeks now and finding myself incredible weak and easily tired but, I’m working on building my strength up a bit at a time. I found out Tuesday that about 60% of my left lung is covered by a fluid buildup. No wonder I was winded every time I moved. The doc drained some of the fluid off yesterday and I’m noticing a difference in my stamina. Hopefully now I can really start building some strength and stamina. 

While I’m recovering, I’m hoping to spend some more time on writing as my energy allows. Now that I’ve stepped down as President of the local Legion, I should actually have more time to focus on writing which I’m looking forward to. Especially since I had to power down some of the Steem to cover extra expenses I’ve had during this.

In the past, most of the changes in technology were ways to advance production of products which were seen as a threat to people who were craftsmen of the products. Today, much of the technology advances our ability to gather and process knowledge. Yet, instead of people becoming more knowledgeable and rational, it seems to have the reverse effect of some grasping and clinging to irrational positions on a range of topics. @talltim seems to think that confronting and being rational with those who grasp these ideas will help turn the tide. Having tried that on some topics… I wish @talltim luck with that.

Right on the heels of the impact of technology @sirwin posts about the lost art of meaningful face to face conversation and sharing that technology seems to have generated. We spend so much time focused on screens we forget to look up and engage the real people present around us.

The price of STEEM has been drifting downward. For those who don’t look at crypto markets, so are most of the crypto coins drifting downward. The root seems to point toward some uproar with Bitcoin expected on August 1st. But, in the meantime, when STEEM starts to drift down, some people on Steemit start to get grumpy and start to point fingers at others as being the ‘cause’ of the problem. @whatsup has a habit of crystallizing some of that grumping and offering an alternative viewpoint. Well worth the read. 

## Wrap-up on Day 101

I started this Ramble on the 14th and decided to wrap it and post it this morning in order to start a more current Ramble. I’m still convalescing from my recent illness and find some days I’m just too tired to focus on doing what I want to accomplish. So, I need to do what I can and not sweat what I can’t as I work to rebuild my strength and stamina.
