 |En|Ua| |-|-| |I was recently cleaning in my garden (I think I was taking out a pile of grass that my husband had mowed) when I saw a bird's nest destroyed near a gutter attached to the wall of the house. There were a few tiny eggs in this nest, one of which someone broke (and maybe it broke itself when the nest fell from a height), and its contents were eaten by ants. I have one guess as to why this particular nest ended up on the ground just opposite the gutter outlet. This year we had a very dry spring, during almost all of April there was no rain at all. Apparently some bird decided that the gutter was a great place to make a nest and lay eggs there, maybe it seemed like a long hollow. And the first real rain just washed away this nest down where I saw it. That's how I witnessed the end of this little tragedy in the wild.|Нещодавно я прибирала у своєму саду (здається, виносила на компостну купу траву, яку покосив мій чоловік), коли побачила біля водостічної труби, прикріпленої до стіни будинку, зруйноване пташине гніздечко. У цьому гнізді було декілька крихітних яєць, одне з яких хтось розбив (а можливо воно розбилося при падінні гнізда з висоти), а його вмістом саме ласували мурашки. Я маю одну здогадку, чому саме це гніздечко опинилося на землі якраз навпроти виходу із водостічної труби. Цього року ми мали дуже посушливу весну, впродовж майже всього квітня зовсім не було дощів. Мабуть якась пташка вирішила, що водостічна труба – це чудове місце для того, щоб зробити гніздечко, знести яйця і висуджувати там пташенят, можливо їй це здалося схожим на довге дупло. А перший справжній дощ просто змив це гніздо додолу, де я його побачила.
