Does your bank account give you 2% interest every month? That is what SP is generating if you don't power down.
Steem was once US$5 when I started but I didn't understand it. Once day it will be worth that again or even more.
What I do it is think of Steem Power like a retirement fund. How much SP can you power up and save over 20 or 30 years?

Personally, I like to keep my FIAT and Steem separate (largely because it's too difficult to transfer Steem to FIAT where I am).
Plus I want to see if I can get to Dolphin level before the end of the year as I'm just a Minnow. So it means powering up all of the time.
I would need to generate an average of about 20 Steem a day to get there, and DTube isn't working for me at this end, so I will have to find
other ways and means to do so.

The key to this game is patience I've learnt. Of course STEEM will always go up. Problem is out here we still need fiat and in somethe instances, we may need to submit our bank statements. If we haven't been actively using our accounts then ot may affect the outcomes negatively. Say like when you want to apply for loans, or apply for VISAs.

I think you will make it pretty soon than you think. Have you set your payouts to 100% SP? That is the fastest way to get there.

Plenty of dapps that can help you out , Steemhunt, Steempress, Vimm, Steemmonsters(not playing, writing articles) etc...

I have started to make my payouts 100% SP but also I am removing my delegations so my vote is worth more so my curation doesn't turn to dust.
