Short term loan and disaster fund!

These are my first thoughts as to this idea, and I have no idea how this is going to pan out.

I am proposing a single account controlled by a few individuals not just me or 1 person. After witnessing @crypto.piotr and his santa Venezuela post/fund raiser, and seeing the fantastic response in a very short amount of time (around 670 steem raised.) It got me to thinking how can we as people do a little more, go the extra mile so to speak.

And then it smacked me in the face or the light-bulb lit in my head. How about a short term loan fund, funded by those of us who earn some good rewards on here? We could even make it grants instead of loans if someone applies and genuinely has nothing to eat and no food on the table.

This is only the beginning of this idea, and like I said I have no idea if it will/would work. It would though be easy to track all transactions from this type of account, as we are on the block with open wallets.

This would for my liking have to be interest free, or even with debt relief if someone can not pay it back. No name and shame thank you.

We all know there are people with not enough food on the table in the supposedly richest of countries, just look at the amount of homeless at xmas in the UK.

I think I am almost eligible to open a free account on steemit via claim account, though will have to look into that via steemworld later today. (anyone know how many sp it is?) Edit, scratch that idea You currently have 0 pending claimed accounts available.

Even if it was just low amounts like 30 steem or sbd per person it could make a huge difference to someone else.

I think this is the perfect time to share my toughts. 
I see every day how some projects are collecting delegations and support here. But all the projects are a online projects.
What if somebody can make a project that can make a real business. There are homeless people there are poor people. You can give them a food but how they will eat tomorrow?
What they need is a work. 
So what if there is somebody who can make it by the support of steem?
There will be a work so some people in need have income. Plus from the company income you can buy steem again and share it to the delegators or supporters. Plusz of course the steem account can make also income. 
I think this will be a really good option for the steem economy and for everyone plus can support some people in need. And of course without boarders. 
Maybe i am a dreamer but maybe it can work. ( without dreamers there are no innovations there is no future )😉

i was working as a aid worker few years ago when the philippines was hit by a super typhoon. We bought relief goods. But also i was talking with some village leaders there. ( barangay captains ) And that time they told that they are thankfull amd we was talking about solutions. They was the one who told me that this food is good for few weeks but after that there will be again nothing. So better option if they get support by makeing oportunity to earn money. So they can eat always. But of course this is not business for the aid organizations because from that they cant make a big news. 
I would like to help in something project like this but alone i dont have chance. And of course 1 person cant make much change. For that you need a team😉

You've nailed it. they need opportunities. Either to learn something valuable and master some skill, or they need to have some work.

Unfortunatelly to create those opportunities it require tremendous amount of time and energy and risk of failure is huge.

Don't hold me to this..I'm thinking outloud, just before I go offline...

How about if I sort a screen printing 'steemit' logo here... (or something)

One t-shirt will be around $30 - but drops significantly with more orders - 10/15 could be done for around  $10/12 each - ish. (numbers off the top of my head from thinking about it before..).

I'd be willing to explore this if we could organize something (I'll be taking profit from it also - I need to - but could redistribute the rest - or something...)

I used steemworld to claim an account token, it cost three steem, and that steem is burned up, and there would be no steem in the account, but I can donate it to you. I will accept no responsibility for lost keys, or have any idea on how to reclaim the account in the event the account is hacked and stolen. 

It was pretty simple to buy an empty account token.

That's kind of you to offer, though I would like to call the account l&df or something like that so it could be easily identified as to what it is.
So I can do the same then and just pay 3 steem and get the account?.

I still have a million ideas to work out as to how to make this so that it is sustainable on it's own two feet, in case nobody wants to help or join in, so it is a work in progress for now my friend.

It was a pretty easy thing to do using steemworld.org to get an account token. I have not made an account out of it yet, but still a simple process. Free account creations are over, of course I was concerned about them going away prior to HF20, but they kept saying that free accounts were not going away, that was why I made my second account. The price of 3 steem was also why I got an account token. I do not think it will stay that price. If the price of steem recovers, and people want to join, that price is set by the greedy steem controllers that some people call witnesses, so 3 steem was a cheap buy, and I had it available at the time I bought the token. Please keep in mind that my initiative has been supported by many people mostly because I managed to build very high engagement with community. I've seen few others trying to do similar things and response has been very low.

My impression is that many people support events like "santa venezuela" when they know and trust person who is behind it.
