Well done:) I once bought an old mini and it came with another mini and a trailer load of extra parts. I sold a lot of the parts and the other mini. This gave me a profit plus still had the mini I wanted and extra parts to use and or sell for more profit. Great when it works out:) Have a great day mate.

This, being an old er post, means I can likely make this comment without many other people reading it (hey snoopy...bug off)

I have, thanks to your advice, been enjoying using smartmarket - (oh, did you know that someone opened an account with the name 'smarmarket' so as to receive funds when the sender slips up...as I did. I've worked out how it works. Open an account, never make any posts or comments, so nobody can send you a message or shit on your parade. What pissed me off is that someone with user name #steem has given that person a delegation, enabling him to use his account - or else, that account belongs to #steem).

So, I've used smartmarket for the main purpose of increasing my Rep, since everyone seemed to be shooting past me. At first I did not mind if it ended up costing me a bit, but I saw it mostly gives a nice return.

Of course I soon realised I'll have to do a powerdown so as to have steem.  Seeing it also earned me some cash and increased my Rep, it seemed better than just letting the money lie there doing very little for me.

Then I hit a glitch. smartmarket sent back to me much less than I'd payed them. I asked, wanting to know how the system works, so that if it happens rarely, I can accept it as part of life, but if it happens often, then I give a good think.  No reply of course.

These last few days I've been losing again, so I checked today carefully and saw I have lost over 20%

I am not asking in the hope of you helping to solve the problem. I just want to know,are there certain things I do not know? For instance, if I make a large  purchase, does that improve my chancesof not losing money? Does the time of day make a difference?

I prefer smartmarket to tipu, as with them I also get a number of upvotes shown on my post, whereas with tipu, it is only one.

I am drawing out of my SP nearly 50Steem per week and the number keeps growing. Should I stop as soon as I get to a decent Rep, or are losses a rare thing, depending I suppose on how smart the market is being on each particular day.

PS I cannot use their smartsteem site  to ask there, as Firefox refuses to let me view it, saying it is dangerous.

I hope you can give some kind of answer to help me decide... or else I'll just have to stop soon. If so, I'll start using my SP drawdown to help a friend get his Rep up (to him it is important and would make him happy) and then retire once I have none left. It would give me a few months, giving me time to explore other possibilities.
