It was a cold winter night. My friend, Riya, just came from the office and was taking a sip of coffee watching TV.

‘Ding Dong’. The doorbell rang.

Who could be there at around 10 pm in the chilly winter night, she whispered and went to answer the door. To her utter surprise, she saw her best friend, Taanvi, standing there.

“OMG, What a pleasant surprise” Riya screamed and hugged Taanvi. She dragged her to the sofa. Riya was very happy but Taanvi was expressionless.

Now Riya noticed that Taanvi was looking anxious with a pale face. She got anxious too.

‘Tanu, Is everything alright. How come you are suddenly here.’ She asked.

‘Riya, I just wanted to meet you.’ Taanvi said in a flat tone.

‘Ok, but we were anyhow meeting after 3 days as planned. And how is Prakash, why is he not with you.’

‘I don't have much time. Just make me a coffee.’

Riya asked Taanvi to relax and she went to the kitchen to get another cup of coffee.

She came back but Taanvi was not there. Suddenly the phone rang.

‘Hello. Hi, Shashank’.

‘Hey, Riya. Will you come with me to Motihari’.

‘Why, What happened!’.

‘What! Don't you know, Tanu met with an accident today and is no more with us.’

PS: Taanvi, Prakash, Riya and I were very good friends from our school. Taanvi and Prakash were in a relationship and were about to get married in two months. We all had not met for almost 3 years (Riya and I meet sometimes as we were in the same city). So, we had planned a trip together but Taanvi met with an accident just 3 days before the trip and left us all. This was the incident told by Riya to me.
