It all took off 5 months ago, when I finally started to write content for an online product- [Interakt](www.interakt.co).
And by content I mean everything related to content.

It is a startup and like every other startup, Interakt needed some much needed exposure and they thought about venturing into the vast world of inbound marketing. For that purpose they needed a content writer, you know where this is going, and they picked me. Because you know, I had a flair of words.

**The Start**
The problem was all I had was that flair. Completely clueless about the whole startup scenario or a job, it was my first mind you, the only experience I had was of reading stuff. Not writing it. And that reading experience mostly consisted of reading witty comments on 9Gag and some novels I read in my adolescence.

So yeah, that was pretty much all I had(and my half shattered laptop that I took to work everyday in my early days, it worked pretty well though).

It was mind-numbing and joyful at the same time as It was my first job but I knew pretty much jack about content writing back then.

**Writing for them**
It was hard, yes. But I crawled through my initial days doing some quora posts and writing school essay type of blogs. The thing was I was all alone, I still am.

Being the only content writer, I had only myself to look up to when it came to creating content and extended learning. Self-study and hit and trial. 
That is what I have been doing pretty much and it’s working pretty well for me, I think.

That is what this post is all about. It’s been 5 months since I have been hitting a new blog every week on our medium publication and seeing how it works when getting down to throwing my blog around everywhere they(the experts in this field) told me to. Taking advice of some, ignoring many.

And I am really overwhelmed to say that I recently achieved the first milestone(1000 monthly viewers) that I made for myself when I took control of writing blogs for Interakt in April, 2016.

Amazing! It will always be for me. Congratulations Interakt.

**Writing for Myself**
They say you should write for yourself, it’s good for your mind and soul apart from the fact that you will actually learn to write if you, well…. write. 

And I have been wondering for a long time to take some time out and write something for myself rather than those techy blogs for our publication.  
All I wanted was a way to get paid for my own writing. Steemit, you are truly a saviour.

So, I am a giving it a try. Today. My first write for myself. This post itself is first of my own. I don't care if I don't make a penny for my blogs here. All I care about is that my content should work for me and not for some advertiser. 
My sweat is, afterall, my sweat and I deserve the reward for each and every drop of it. Doesn't matter if it is a single dollar or a hundred.

How am I feeling right now? Relieved.

I will not promote this writing, I don’t need to(maybe, I will! I’m weird). Who promotes an introduction, anyway?
It is purely the result of my own curiosity inside, it is to see if I will ever be able to write for myself.
If I can really get my thoughts out to the world. It is to share a little part of me that is not in the Steemit’s profile description. 
 
That part of me which I recently have started recognizing. That part of me which was always lost somewhere in the sub-consciousness. That selfish part of me is what makes me who I am.
